Gerry McGowan is an artist who looks for the ‘extra’ ordinary in the ordinary. He attempts to capture everyday situations or events, focusing mostly on the actions and displays of people. What might seem mundane can take on a new life as a painting with its own unique dynamic. Gerry believes that an interesting painting can come out of the most unlikely source and he looks out for these special moments in his surroundings.
He has exhibited at the Royal Scottish Academy, the Paisley Art Institute and Royal Glasgow Institute of the Fine Arts.
