Alex Summers
Alex Summers spent his early childhood in the Shetland Isles. When his family moved to the mainland he was sent to various schools where he showed a great deal of interest in drawing and painting.
In 1969 he won the Brooke Bond award for young artists and in 1970 passed the Press Art Schools course on pencil and charcoal drawing.
Apart from a brief period at art college he considers himself self-taught.
He has works in many private and public collections.
